After an early breakfast we
take a short transfer to the base of the
ski resort in Bariloche. We will then take
a chairlift all the way up to the ridge
and from this vantage point begins our
trek with an incredible view of the lakes,
Andes and the Chilean Volcanoes in the
distance. This amazing scenery will frame
our trek along the ridge towards the towers
of Cerro Catedral, the mountain we are
traversing to the south.
After approximately 1 hour we arrive by
the north side of the mountain with an
incredible view to the valleys below and
lake Nahuel Huapi, if the weather is good
we enjoy a nice picnic lunch with the last
glimpse to the west, before descending
towards the base of the mountain again.
Once at the base of the ski resort we take
a car transfer back to Bariloche.
Information about this Trek:
Linear distance: 12 kms.
Altitude gain: 300 metres, undulated on
the ridge and minus 1000 metres on the
descent.

In the morning we take a half hour transfer
from our hotel to the trailhead of Cerro Lopez at 900 meters above sea level.. We
start along a simple trail in the beautiful
area of Lopez bay with the lake shimmering
in the sunlight.
The path climbs up the mountain and as
we ascend the stunning background of Lake
Nahuel Huapi and the Andes start unfolding
behind us, providing some spectacular photo
stops. After one hour the trail continues
through the upper forests and the steepness
decreases.
After approximately 3 hours on the trail
we arrive at the refuge (1700 above sea
level) for a well deserved lunch, from
this point we have an excellent view to
the lakes and the chance of seeing the
Andean Condor in flight.
Optional: We can continue
our trek further up the mountain on rocky
terrain with some steep steps where we
need to use our hands on rocks & boulders.
We start our descent by the same trail
that will takes us after aproximately 2
hours back to our vehicle at the trailhead.
There is also the option of taking a 4x4
transfer to a point only half an hour away
from the refuge.

In the morning we take a 45 minute transfer from our hotel to the trailhead of Cerro Bellavista at 800 meters above sea level. We start along a simple trail in the beautiful area next to the Casa de Piedra stream, walking through the amazing giant local beeches (Coihue trees). The path climbs steadily up the mountain and as we ascend the stunning background of Lake Nahuel Huapi, Lake Moreno and the mountains start unfolding behind us, providing some spectacular photo stops.
After three hours the trail comes out
of the upper forests, we are now at an
amazing viewpoint of the lakes and the
Andes stretching into the horizon. From
this point, we continue under the open
skies of the higher peaks walking on rocky
terrain and the final climb to the summit.
After approximately another hour we arrive
at the summit (1850 meters above sea level)
for a well deserved lunch, from this point
we have an excellent 360º view and the
chance of seeing the Andean Condor in flight.

that will takes us after aproximately 2
hours back to our vehicle at the trailhead.

Transfer from Bariloche to the eastern end
of Lake Mascardi. We begin our trek towards
Laguna Llum along the emerald waters of the
lake and the shady forest of beech trees, on
the way we pass the idilic Playa Leones. After
an easy climb we arrive at the lagoon and we
make a stop for lunch and even a swim.
We continue towards the pass for today that
will give us an incredible look towards Cerro
Tronador and the western end of the Lake. From
this point we descend to the lake by the Playa
Volteada where we are picked up in our zodiacs
to cross the lake and end our adventure for
the day. After a nice tea time snack we take
our vehicles back to Bariloche.

We start our cycling from the beautiful area
of Llao Llao at the west end of Bariloches
lake road.
We cycle on the most famous scenic ring road
in Bariloche “Circuito Chico”, with amazing
views around every turn and the sound of the
whispering forest along the road.
Our support vehicle carries our extra clothing
as well as water and snacks, we can also jump
in the vehicle if we need to rest our legs.
We pass the stunning Panoramic point and the
picturesque Colonia Suiza (Swiss Colony) and
continue on our road along lake Moreno.
We take the old road up to the base of the
ski resort before finishing with a great downhill
arriving at the beach of Lake Gutierrez.
From this point we load our bikes and transfer
back to our hotel.

Early in the morning we take a transfer from
our hotel towards the valley of the Limay River
in Valle Encantado (The enchanted valley).
We cross the river on an old raft and head
up the valley into the Patagonian Steppe, from
this point we have an amazing view of the Andes
to begin with our cycling.
Our itinerary will take us through the stunning
scenery of the vast patagonian highlands on
country roads with almost no traffic at all,
discovering hidden creeks and farm houses along
the way.We stop for a picnic lunch at beautiful
green spot with willow trees, next to the rural
school.
We continue after lunch, going through little
villages to finish at the valley of the Pichileufu
River. From this point we load our bikes and
it’s a one hour transfer back to Bariloche.

After breakfast we transfer to Pampa Linda
and the trailhead of Mount Tronador, the highest
mountain in the Bariloche area. We begin our
trek towards the Meiling Refuge at 2000 meters
following the valley of the Castaño Overo.
We stop for a picnic lunch along the way with
an amazing view to the Castaño Overo Glacier
surrounded with a stunning volcanic landscape.
We arrive to the refuge in the afternoon with
plenty of time to enjoy the stunning scenery
of the Andes and the majestic flight of the
Andean Condor. Candle light dinner and overnight
at the refuge.
Optional: Horse ride to a point within 3 kms
from the refuge.
After breakfast we have the chance to gear
up with glaciar equipment (plastic boots, crampons,
ice axe, harness and helmet) and explore the
glacier just 200 metres away from the refuge.
We trek along crevasses up to 40 meters deep
and learn the basics about ice gear, we end
our tour by trying a bit of ice climbing in
one of the crevasses. The tour in the glacier
is 100% safe and done according to the groups
expectations.
We return to the refuge for lunch and get ready
to go back to Bariloche.
